2014-01-18 The book looks like "The Girl Who Leapt through Time" doesn't it?

Continuously, I am reading the book “TEST-TUBE BABIES (edited by WILLAM A. W. WALTERS and PETER SINGER)"

I borrowed the book from a public library, and I was surprised at several issues.

- This book had been published three decades ago, in 1983.

- Though this book is a close and rare book, I could borrow the book easier.

I think that libraries are great.

I sometimes use some services provided by National Diet Library (NDL). I am happy to hear that we can read a lot of close and rare books by the digital systems.

Though the digital books are good definitely, I love the time turning the page of books, which have come through many readers and more than 30 years.

The book looks like "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" doesn't it?

I would like to say "I'll be waiting for you in the future"

-----

Though the volume of the technologies of “TEST-TUBE BABIES” is just twenty pages, the remaining pages (until 267 pages) contain the life ethics.

I could feel the zeal of opposition side against "TEST-TUBE BABIES" with choral speaking.

Though the theory had been established more than 30 years ago, I was moved to read the both logic of favor and opposite.

I was depressed to read a lot of twitter comments that seems to be made by spinal reflex (not brain).

So I feel happy to read such serious and effortful theories, and want to shout

"Go for it! I stand by both of you. "

2015-01-18 When I looked at her face, she was filled with tears for fear.

From the station to the home, I come back through the path of a thicket approximately 25 minutes on foot.

I enjoy walking in winter's clear air with watching a winter constellation, but it is cold.

So I will come home by a jacket with the black hood, a baseball cap, and the mask, as a protection against the cold.

-----

The other day, when I entered the home with the style, the second daughter who looked back, was unable to stand up on a floor and screamed.

When I looked at her face, she was filled with tears for fear.

"What's happen?"

I asked her putting my mask off.

"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh"

She seemed to cry in a low voice, and was repeated.

-----

I thought that "Is this too pitiful for her?"

2016-01-18 "You may set your mind at ease. because I didn't have any accident, like "

(Continuation from yesterday)

She bedded news paper in the wash place, and I let my upper body out of the bathtub and put my head toward her. After that she started cutting my hair roughly.

It was an odd scene that the senior daughter used the scissors sitting with her legs crossed, and the junior daughter stood up around her auditing the senior daughter's jobs.

-----

I thought her work was great because she could complete my requirement of "cut short, above all" instead of her first trial. She looked like happy after my comments.

She, who said "I might become to work for hairdressing"

had taken a mock examination of "the national center test for university" at that day. ( I don't know her results of that)

My wife was anxious about balding head partly with her sigh. But I don't care it because the parts become to fade into the background in one week.

-----

I think that coworkers in my office will not say anything about my hair style as usual (It seems to be an unspoken agreement in my office), however, I remember the promise of the meeting and the interviewing in next weekend and after.

So I will tell both Mr.K and Miss.M my attention in advance.

"You may set your mind at ease. because I didn't have any accident, like "the lynch against the young ladies who had cooperated Nazi after the World War 2 in France".

2017-01-18 A weekend researcher,throwing "raw meat block"

Today, new my column is released, so I take a day off.

Let's turn the world by "Number" Accident resulting in injury or death (37) "

Four scary information to understand a real "one-under"

-----

In order to obtain the basis of this argument,

from the second floor of the house, toward the sidewalk of the neighborhood,

throwing "raw meat block"

Such a weekend researcher

has existed.

2018-01-18 "Look with keen interest, young people. This is a "winning side".

From a long time ago, there is a work that bar proprietress gives us a shoulder to cry.

Now, I hear about a work that active junior high school girl, high school girl, or college girl give a date for men.

-----

In my case, I have

a wife who bears my cross without complaining,

and

both active junior high school and college girls who can discuss from anime, idol, studying, to North Korea problem, at a dining room and restaurant.

"Look with keen interest, young people. This is a "winning side".

-----

Last night, I told my family about the story. However, my wife said

"But, it is no exciting

2019-01-18 Believe or not, "Dharma teachings of Buddha" is equal to "trigonometric function".

(Continuation from yesterday)

Recently, The discussion of "necessity of trigonometric function" works on the Internet.

A key figure says "I understand the necessity, of course, however, it is necessary for everyone isn't it? "

----

By the way , in my case, "if trigonometric function disappear, I will be killed outright next day"

To begin with, I cannot make any simulation program.

I have to give up analysing nearly all data.

If I don't use FFT(Fast Fourier Transformation), all hypothesis testing of mine will be aborted in my columns.

I will be hard pressed seriously.

However, I know that I am minority in the world.

I also can accept that the education about "trigonometric function" is despairingly boring and useless

I am irritated with the administrators who can have "trigonometric function" to be shamed.

Especially, the present math education process, like pushing students to rote exercise of formulas, should be destroyed at the bottom of my heart.

The essence of "trigonometric function" is not trivial thing.

-----

I am afraid that few people knows that the essence of "trigonometric function" is Buddhism. To be precise, it is not Buddhism but "Dharma teachings of Buddha" like "retributive justice" and "sense of mortality".

Believe or not, "Dharma teachings of Buddha" is equal to "trigonometric function".

2020-01-18 Ebata: "I know, I'm writing a column in game theory. Didn't you know?"

My eldest daughter majors in psychology at college.

Psychology is considered to be a liberal arts, but it is actually a science that is more science than science.

Psychology must deal with data collection and statistical calculations and significance tests based on it on a daily basis. There seems to be a need for more practical fieldwork than poor science.

----

The other day, the eldest daughter came to my room and asked for it.

"Dad, do you know "game theory"?"

Game theory is a great way to quantify and formulate human mind, however, I did not know that a psychology student had to learn to the field.

Ebata: "I know, I'm writing a column in game theory. Didn't you know?"

SD: "I didn't know."

Well, even my family can't help reading their father's articles.

Ebata: "Anyway, try to google with "Tomoichi Ebata" & "Game Theory""

I said to her.

-----

After that, she showed me a resume on game theory distributed by the university, however I thought, "Who can understand it by this resume?"

The "prisoner's dilemma" is just an explanation of the concept of game theory. Above all, it is boring.

At the very least, the teacher should just teach a "practical marriage strategy" using the Gale-Shapley algorithm, well, I was thinking about it.

2021-01-18 I'm wondering if someone could draw a manga called "Working Computers" to convince me to do so.

With a manga called "Working Cell" being so popular,

I've been wondering why there hasn't been a "Working Computer" manga.

-----

If you say, "It's natural for computers to work," then I would argue, "It's natural for cells to work, too.

But what makes anthropomorphic cells so appealing,

Needless to say, it is the result of the talent and efforts of the original author

there are countless varieties in the various abilities of cells and their relationships with other cells, and I think this is because we can find drama in them.

-----

A computer, on the other hand, is basically just a machine that does what the program tells it to do.

In principle, there are no exceptions to its behavior (even if error bits occur, they are self-correcting).

I still don't understand the idea of "intelligence" occurring in a machine that only works according to the instructions of a program.

-----

So...

I'm wondering if someone could draw a manga called "Working Computers" to convince me to do so.

2022-01-18 "What do they mean when they say they don't care who they kill? And what do they mean, "I want to be caught and sentenced to death"?"

I think I have a passing understanding of cults and far-right and far-left terrorism.

I also know (from experience) the process by which personal anger can be justified within oneself and transformed into a murderous intent directed at a specific person.

In particular, the quantification and forgetting of anger emotions has been numerically modeled and incorporated into simulations under the (self-serving) name of the "Ebata Model".

After all, even now, I can give you three "real names" of people I want to kill.

-----

However, I have no understanding of the recent indiscriminate killings at Odakyu, Keio, and the University of Tokyo entrance exams.

"What do they mean when they say they don't care who they kill? And what do they mean, "I want to be caught and sentenced to death"?"

I can't understand them.

In a word, it's not rational.

Of course, there are plenty of irrational negative emotions in the world (resentment, jealousy, vindictiveness, hatred, desperation, destructive impulses, etc.).

However, they are emotions that are shared in our society and also understandable from our own experiences.

And against terrorism and criminal acts caused by religion, ideology, or personal feelings as mentioned above, we can not only rely on the state security forces (such as criminal police (*1) or public security police (*2)), but also take some "preventive measures" by ourselves.

(*1) Basically, they investigate after an incident occurs.

(*2) Even before an incident occurs, they will continue to investigate organizations and individuals that may threaten the security of the nation.

But I can't think of any countermeasures that can be taken against terrorists who say, "I don't care who I will kill" or "I want to be caught and executed".

-----

The persecution of Muslims as "reserve terrorists" by the United States, whose national policy is freedom of religion, is still ongoing.

Of course, this is out of line humanely (and probably legally), but I think the government of a security state would 'do this level of violence'.

In the case of Japan, through the efforts of the government and the police (infiltration as spies and intelligent counter-terrorism operations), they have succeeded in forming a national consensus (brainwashing?) that violent acts are unconditionally "evil, and the far left, far right and cults have been destroyed by them one after another.

(*) In this sense, I think the "Aum Shinrikyo case" is one of those cases that failed to be destroyed.

As a side note, I believe that in Japan, the concept that violence is unconditionally "bad" has been realized not through religion or ideology, but through "air", which is a characteristic that no other country has.

2023-01-18 "When I see my second daughter creating high quality works with her iPad, ibisPaint, and Apple Pen, I feel like competing with her"

I currently have SAI installed on my PC and use a mouse to create illustrations.

I don't want to master digital painting in earnest, but I am wondering if I can use ibisPaint on my iPad as a whiteboard for remote work.

So now I am wondering if I should buy the Apple Pen or the lower priced version.

- Apple Pen (2nd generation) is over 19,000 yen

- KINGONE stylus pen is less than 3000 yen

I am reluctant to buy an Apple Pen when I think that "two Apple Pens + α can buy one iPad".

In the course of my research, I have learned that the advantage of the Apple Pen seems to be pressure detection.

The ability to change between thick and thin lines with brush pressure is said to be very important for people who are into digital painting as a job or a hobby.

I understand this.

I am also currently using SAI and actually have to go back to the menu once to change the line thickness, which is "quite annoying".

-----

So, I am now struggling.

I can continue to create pictures with my PC + SAI + mouse as I have in the past, but

"When I see my second daughter creating high quality works with her iPad, ibisPaint, and Apple Pen, I feel like competing with her"

is not true.

I, who have "zero artistic ability," can now illustrate my own columns on my own, at my own risk.

If I have a personal painting environment in front of me, I should do what I can.

-----

Okay, let's go with the Apple Pen.

However, I should look for a "used" "first generation" (about 5500 yen).

At all times, I am a coward at the last minute.

2024-01-18 As of New Year's Day this year, the Ebata family has discontinued its newspaper subscription.

As of New Year's Day this year, the Ebata family has discontinued its newspaper subscription.

I made this proposal shortly after we were married.

It has been 30 years.

I withdrew my proposal after receiving protests from my wife's family and relatives, in addition to her fierce opposition to my view that 'news on the Web is enough.

Well, maybe my views 30 years ago were a bit too advanced.

Back then, there were no cell phones, let alone smartphones, and only a few people were using computers.

-----

TV program listings can now be viewed with TV recording devices, and news is automatically added as a service menu on social networking sites.

On the other hand, newspapers continue to be structured nonsensical, requiring the reader to spread out the paper and insert the article in the fold.

I have not found any "areas that have evolved as an easy-to-read medium over the past 30 years," such as the inability to read articles in succession without moving to the next page.

There is no attempt to create a tailor-made newspaper to meet the readers' demands or anything like that.

(By the way, I don't need the sports and literature articles, so I want a newspaper that cuts them out and makes them cheaper.)

Aside from entertainment scandals, we do not hear any stories about political scandals (political funding, etc.), such as newspaper scoops.

(Incidentally, I was one of those people who read the part about the scoop fight in "Climber's High" and thought, "Are newspaper reporters idiots?")

-----

Recently, however, when I began to think that I might need the newspaper to keep up with news in fields in which I have no interest, my wife came to suggest that we discontinue the newspaper.

Since there was no reason to disagree otherwise, I agreed.

If I feel like subscribing again, I might try to subscribe to "Akahata" or "Seikyo" this time.
