(Continuation from yesterday)
In addition, about "prediction (for economy or population, e.t.c.)", no one can know whether it is correct or not, without opening the prediction algorithm.
And, as far as I know, there is no movement, diet, administration, and committee to open the source code of the prediction program(It's true).
-----
In my case, I have opened all of program source codes and data about my columns.
These my activities , I believe, give the readers some propriety of contents of my columns.
Even if nobody check the contents of source codes, they are going to give some confident to the columns.
(To my surprise, I heard that an editor of EE Times Japan is trying to compile and execute my codes. Well done.)
Let us think why an authoritative institution takes same approach of mine.
The reason is simple.
If they open source codes like that, we can understand easily what the authoritative institution is thinking.
- Unfavourable parameters,
- Numerical data that you do not want to show,
- Optimistic future prediction algorithm
All of these information will be opened easily.
In short,
"Source codes has no right to remain silent."
Our engineers that can read the program, all at once to read the contents of such source code, will publish it.
# Well, this might be my work.
And, people who knew its contents, might criticise, condemn and rage in the prestigious institution.
It is troublesome for them.
So, it is better for them that "the numbers", "Statistics", "forecast" is conveniently disclosed or non-disclosed.
