Last Friday, I attended a regular meeting of EtherCAT Technology Group(ETG).

Actually speaking, I was invited to attend the meeting by the President of the ETG member company (Because I am not a member of the ETG), and had a chance to audit it.

I had two big impressions in this meeting.

(1)"3D printer to make a house", as one of EtherCAT applications.

To be precise, it was not to create a 3D object in the melted plastic, but large-scale industrial robots banks up many blocks side-by-side.

"It was a paradigm shift" even without relationship of EtherCAT technology.

With the hardening plastic, we can make a house as the same theory of "unit bath",

Even forming body only, automobile, airplane, are going to be made easily.

It is much fun for me to come to think "Field LAN for Makers (named by Ebata)" than to think IoT than (Internet of Things).

If joining the ETG, you are likely to get married (possibility)

Mr.Martin Rostan, an Executive Director of EtherCAT Technology Group, at the end of the beginning of the presentation, introduced us a lot of wedding photos of the couple of the representative of the ETG in each country.

The conclusion of his presentation, is , "easier to get married if we work for the field LAN, not the Internet.

Well, I know it is wrong.
