I thought about it for a moment.

From an economic point of view,

(1) Productivity per person was hopelessly bad, and human value (unit price) was fearfully cheap

(2) (Food) Production was not stable, death" due to starvation, disease were in daily life, and the consciousness to "life" is low.

From an QoL point of view,

(3) No "entertainment" but "power" (No the Internet,dramas animations)

From an lack of diversity point of view,

(4)No idea that "various values can coexist"

Given that, as the human economic behavior of those days, I can say "the looting of wealth (war) was more efficient than the efforts to increase productivity."

Basically, if we are in daily life "just wait for death in this way", all of our behaviors except for "wait", are all economic and reasonable.
