Here is one question.

"If we use Google Translate, why we should study English?"

This is a typical "yes and no" problem.

“Google Translate” provides high-precision translation, but sometimes causes fatal mistakes for example,

- Misunderstanding of the subject

- Mistranslation of rarely used kanji and idioms

and

- Ignoring explicit grammar (as I am surprised)

In these cases, "Google Translate" is not guilty but the Japanese sentence entered into "Google Translate" is bad.

To get a good translation,

- Explicitly enter subject and predicate, even if they are unnatural in Japanese

- Enter kanji and idioms, after they have been correctly broken as correct meanings.

- Divide sentences for "Google Translate" to keep the grammar

we have to devise like the above.

In other words, "the significance of learning English" is

(1) to get ability to find "abnormal translation results" of Google translation

(2) to get ability to recreate Japanese so that Google Translate can do "reasonable translation"

I think that they are enough for us.

Stopping making "autonomous international person" that school education aims at at present, well, no we don't have to stop it, however,

I think that the educational policy should be "English education premised on cooperation with software technology".

This is the real solution, no matter who says what.
