I often come back to my family home to procedure some protocol for my father and mother who are certified as caring program.

帰省する新幹線代金もバカにならないので、なんとか手を抜きたいという一心で、電子確定申告システム"e-Tax"を作る為の準備に走り回っております。

Shinkansen-fare price is high and I want to save time. I prepare the e-Tax system in order to cut corners.

e-Taxシステムとは、簡単に言えば、「自宅の確定申告システム」です。

しかし、そのe-Taxを使う為には、住民基本台帳カード(いわゆる住基カード)が必要で、それを作る為には、私が代理人となる証明が必要で、そして入院中の母には、そのような書類を作る能力がなく、

In order to make and use the system, I need their digital CERT, their Basic Resident Register (BRR) card for the CERT and document for designation of agent. Additionally my mother is in a hospital and doesn't have capability of writing her signature down.

まあ、つまるところ―― 疲れています。

In short, I am very tired.

この機会に、私も市役所に出向いて、住基ネットと電子証明書の発行を受けてきました。

In this chance, I went to a local city hall and was issued BRR and digital CERT.

電子鍵を生成するPCの前で、パスワード入力してきたのですが、そのパソコンには、Windows Vistaのライセンスキーが張ってありました。

I entered my password to the PC in the city hall in order to make public digital KEY. At the time I noticed that the PC is attached a label of "Windows Vista License Key".

Vistaのサポート期間は2017年。まだ余裕あります。

That reminded me that the end of Vista support period is 2017.

It can afford to change OS.

「もし、このPCに"Windows XP"のシールが張ってあったら、それに突っ込む市民の一人や二人はいるんだろうなー」

I am waiting for the card, and thinking,

と思いながら、カードの交付の手続を待っていました。

"If the label were not "Vista" but "XP", some kinds of person would blame for the system."
