そして今日。

Today,

同じく「辛いの大好き」嫁さんと、娘二人を連れて、今度は町田店で復活戦です。

I went to a shop in Machida to start a retried battle with my two daughters and my wife who also was crazy for hot.

狭い店舗の中、5～6人の立ち待ちの後で、夫婦と子ども達の2グループに分かれて、カウンター席に座り、今度は間違えないように、「北極ラーメン」を頼みました。

In the narrow shop, we made two teams and sat the seat down separately, and I ordered "Hokkyoku-Ramen" without mistake.

出てきたのは、血の色のような真っ赤なスープの中央に、目映いばかりの白色を発光するもやし。

Blood-red soup and bright white beansprout.

まずスープを一口。

At first, single swallow of the soup.

―― 辛い! しかし、旨い!!

Too hot! but delicious!!

つぎに麺にスープをからめて口に押し込む。

Secondly, I put bundle of noodle dipped by soup into my mouth.

真っ赤になった炭を、まるごと口に突っ込む感じ。

I looks like I eat the burned charcoal, but

―― だが旨い! これは、最高だ!! スープの旨みが、この辛さに対抗し、そして、見事な調和を描いている。

"It is delicious. Perfect. Both the taste struggle against the hot, and both the taste and hot make wonderful harmony.

―― なんという、圧倒的で、暴力的な旨み

"What a overwhelming and violent taste is"

―― 見事!

"Outstanding work!"

世の中には辛い料理はいくらでもあります。料理を辛くするのは、簡単です。大量に辛味調味料をぶちこめば良いのです。

There are a lot of spicy foods in the world. It is very easy to make spicy foods, became we put many spices and condiment into foods

しかし、このような料理の味の多くは下品です。

However, in many cases, such foods are rough.

辛くなるだけで、それに対抗しうる旨味が消えてしまうからです。

Because the tastes are going to disappear against the hot.

辛さを5段階で表記するカレーチェーン店は、(私は嫌いではありませんが)、やはり品のない味だと思うのです。

For example, curry chain shops which show the fifth spicy ranks are not good, though I don't like the shop.

比して、この「北極ラーメン」は、完成したラーメンとして、緻密な計算がされつくした、最高の激辛ラーメンなのです。

By comparison, this "Hokkyoku-Ramen" is a complete ramen, that taste was calculated in advance.

久々に、恍惚を味わいました。

For the first time in many years, this ramen threw me into an ecstasy.

雪崩のような汗で、目が見えなくなるという経験もしました。

I had a experiment that I couldn't be lost to sight with swear like snow avalanche.

スープを飲み切れなかったことは、痛恨の極みではありますが、私は家族を持つ家長の身の上。そして、(暫定)プロジェクトマネージャーで、今日はその後出社もありました。

I felt heartbreaking grief that I couldn't drink up the soup. However I am a head of family, a (temporary) project manager, and had to go to office today.

「スープを敢えて飲まない」勇気が、問われる、そういう年齢なのです。

I am a old man who is called in question about a brave "do not drink soup dare"

にしても、あのスープ。今度タッパーに入れて持ち帰りたいなぁ。

Next time I want to take the hot-soup out in the bottle.

あれをベースに、野菜炒め作ったら、さぞ旨いだろうなあー、と思っています。

If I cooked stir-fried vegetables with hot-soup, it would be delicious.

今度、ダメ元で、店員さんに相談してみます。

Nothing to lose. I ask a waiter for that.
