池上彰さんの「そうだったのか! 現代史」を読み終えました。

I have finished reading "Contemporary history, I got it!" written by Ikegami Akira-san.

この説明の巧さには、まったく舌を巻きます。

I am really astonished at his understandable explanations at all time.

昨日も書きましたが、分かりやすい本は、それだけで価値があるのです。

I wrote the same thing in the diary of yesterday, I think that the book to read easier is valuable for that reason.

ただ、「分かりやすい本」というのは、多分に主観が入るので難しいです。

However, it is difficult to judge whether the book is easy to understand, because it depend on each person's thought.

例えば、今、次女が凄い勢いで読んでいる「物語シリーズ」を、「難しい」から読まないといっている社会人の研究員もいます。

For example, "Monogatari series" that addicts my daughter, an adult researcher doesn't like it, because he feel "difficult".

それはさておき。

ユダヤ問題、パレスチナ問題では、「シオニスト」という言葉が登場します。

We cannot avoid to use the word "Zionist" when we have to talk "Jewish problem" and "Palestine problem".

この概念なくして、これらの問題は語れないからです。

We cannot discuss this problems without this concept.

しかし、日本人でもある私には、どうしても「塩ニスト」と見えてしまうのですよね。

However I, who is also a Japanese, cannot help reading "Salt-ist".

塩の英語発音「ソルト」とは「貨幣」と言う意味もあり、実際、古代では軍人の給与として取り扱われていました。

"Salt" also has a mean of "money", and in fact, salt was used as paycheck for soldier in ancient times.

サラリーマンの語源は、この「ソルト」に由来するそうです。

I heard that the origin "Salary man" was derived from the word "salt".

―― ということは、自由経済主義者とは、すべからく「塩ニスト」といってもいいかなぁ

That means,

Nobody blame me if I say "the person who has a principle of free economy might be called "Salt-ist""

などと、まあ、くだらないことを、ぼんやりと考えたりしています。

I am thinking that some worthless thing darkly in this weekend.
