The winners of the Internet is not me, at least. They are Google, Amazon, and Twitter and Facebook. I am afraid that nobody can argue against the facts.

通信プロトコルを考えて、プロトタイプを作って、装置に実装して、―― というようなことを続けてきた私達は、結局彼等のために「ただ働き」してきたようなものです。

Thinking communication protocol, making the proto-type and implementing the logic to devices, we. who had continued the work for the Internet's progress , was just working free for long time.

正直 ―― 腹立つ。

To tell you the truth, I am irritated.

インフラを作る仕事は、派手には儲からないし、インフラを運用する仕事が、あまり人の自慢になったという話も聞いたことがない。

I think that making infrastructures doesn't pay much, and managing infrastructure is not so much respectable.

特に社会インフラ(通信、水道、ガス、電力、鉄道、交通)というのは、絶対に必要なものです。

Especially, the social infrastructures (communication, water, gas electricity train and traffic) are absolutely necessary for our life;

それにも関わらず、24時間365日動き続けていても誰からも褒められず、たまに止まる(システムダウンする)と、滅茶苦茶に怒られる。

Nevertheless, nobody applauds the system's activities for 24hours 365days. When they become in trouble and down, we are scolded terribly.

サラリーマンは、毎日職場にいって、仕事をして、お給料を貰って生活をしています。

Business persons go to their office and work everyday and get some money.

主夫/主婦は、毎日、自宅のメンテナンスや地域のコミュニケーションの気遣いに気が抜けません。

House keepers keep their house maintenance and should be care of the communication of neighbourhood.

子どもたちは、毎日、学校にいって、勉強をさせられて、その上、(頼みもしないのに)その評価まで突き付けられます。

Children should go to school and enforce to study everyday, and is going to be given their performance values though they don't want.

で、大抵のばあい、それらは当たり前とされ、誰からも褒められず、たまに、それらを怠ると、滅茶苦茶に叱られます。

In most cases, their efforts are presumed and nobody applauds our activities, and , we are scolded terribly when we neglect the duties.
