以前、「帰省時に、自分の所属するメンバに、おみやげを買ってこない」というポリシーを放棄した、という話をしました。

The other day, I told you a story that I abandoned my policy of "I don't buy souvenir after seasonal home leave.

で、今回の帰省では、おみやげを購入してきたのですが ――

So I tried to buy a snack box as a souvenir for my section members, however,

全く、慣れないことは、するものじゃありませんね。

I thought deeply that I should not have not tried something unfamiliar.

「お土産が、人数分足りなかった」

"lacking the count of snacks for the numbers of my section"

先程、全員に回っていない、私のお土産の箱が、私の机の上に戻っていました。

I confirmed that there was the snack box on my desk, that had not been round about the members.

お土産のお菓子の数をチェックするという、基本中の基本すら、できていないことから、『この私が、いかに、この手のイベントに無関心あったか』が、図らずも露呈してしまいました。

This, I was not interested in checking snack's counts, means that I also have not been interested in the event until now.

さて、今回、江端家は、「次女・私のチーム」と、「長女・嫁さんのチーム」に分かれて、それぞれの実家に帰省しました。

Now, for this new years holiday, the Ebatas made two teams of "senior daughter and wife" and "junior daughter and me" and went back to each country home.

両家の両親4人中、2人が施設、1人が病院、1人が自宅要介護状態であり、

Now, "two are in care facilities", "one is in a hospital" and "one is in the house with assistant" of four our parents.

もはや「帰省」とは名ばかりの、江端家全員総出の「救急出動」という感じです。

These are "scramble" by all members of the Ebatas, called "homecoming".

ですので、全員、疲労困憊での帰宅となります

Therefore,in many cases, all are completely exhausted after homecoming.

「長女・嫁さんのチーム」は、明日、自宅に戻ることになっていますので、「追加のお土産」の購入を依頼するつもりです。

The team of "senior daughter and wife" is going to come back home tomorrow. So I will ask my wife to purchase additional souvenir in her country area.

お土産の内容がバラけることに、別段、違和感を感じない、という点も、

I cannot feel something is wrong with different souvenir, so

多分、私はダメなのでしょう。

I think that I am a typical soapy, maybe.
