今回のコラムの第一稿では、珍しくEE Times Japan編集部から「懸案」が示されました。
For the first draft of this column, the "EE Times Japan" showed me a "pending in issue".
まあ、何故、難色が示されたかというと、コラムを読んで頂ければ一目瞭然です。
Well, the reason why they showed it, will be clear, if you read this column.
私たちの社会には『コストで計ってはならない』ものがいくつかあって、今回のコラムは(今回のコラム"も")、そのタブーに、土足で踏み込んでいるからです。
Our society has some problems that cannot be expressed numerically, this column (also) goes into with its shoes on on of the the problems.
もっとも、私は、第一稿で『この問題は、数字で回しても解決可能である』という論旨を展開していました。
Originally, I had argued that "this problem will be resolved even from the viewpoint of the cost" at the first draft.
しかし、それでも、この私ですら、この問題を「数字で語る」ことは、怖かったし ――
However, even I felt fear to talk this problem from the cost view,
―― 正直、今でも怖い。
"To tell you the truth, I feel fear of it"

担当のMさんから「懸案」がメールで伝えられたのは、ちょうど、新人歓迎会が終って、二次会に向かおうかとしていたところです(原則、私は、二次会には出席しませんが)。
When I received a mail from Ms.M, executive editor, we were about to go the post-party for a newcomer.(though I am used not to attend any post-party)
その後、私は、自宅に戻るまでの記憶がありません。
After that, I could not remember how to go home back.
どのように原稿の内容を変更するかを、ずっと考え続けていたからです。
Because I thought deeply how to make an alteration of the first draft on the way to my house..
その日の深夜、新しいコラムのプロットを案出して、翌日、担当のMさんからO.K.を貰いました。
In the middle of the night, I submitted a new plot to Ms.M, she gave me "O.K." to me, at the day after.
