で、その翌日、警察から電話がかかってきて、正直、青冷めました。

なんでも、「業務完了」されたとこのとで、その後の手続についてのご相談の電話でした。

He told me that he had completed his work and called me to ask about the procedures to be followed.

安堵の溜息をつきました。

I sighed in relief.
