最近、あるプロジェクトの事務局をやっています。

Recently, I take charge of the head office of a project.

業務が膨大で「このまま続けると倒れますけど、いいですか」と言ったところ、 4人ほどサポートを付けてくれることになりました。

The tasks were enormous and I said to my boss "I will breakdown soon if I keep the tasks at the pace". He decided that new four persons supported me.

それぞれ、総務、経理、資材、渉外に割り当てて働いて貰うことにした、と、そこまではよかったのですが、私の役職名「事務局」が使えなくなることに気がつきました。

I asked them for working, general affairs, accounting, resource, and public relations. There was no problem so far. But I noticed that I didn't use the handle name "head office".

―― 事務局の長になるのだから、「事務局長」だよな

""Director of the head office" is good, because I became a top of the head office."

と思い、メールの中で自分のことを「事務局長」と書くことにしました。

So I became to give out "Director of the head office" in my mail.

最近、部長が、私を「事務局長」と呼ぶようになりました。

After few days ago, my boss began to call me "secretary-general".

ただし、私には、潘基文（パン・ギムン)氏ほどの能力も発言力も権力もないです。

However I have no ability, no political voice and no power like Mr. Ban Ki-moon.

さっも、たった一人で、寒い倉庫の中、探し物していましたが、国連事務局では、潘氏にこんな仕事をさせる人はいないでしょう。

This morning, I was making a search for something in the cool warehouse alone. I believe that there are no people who order Mr. Ban Ki-moon to search for something in the United Nations Secretariat.
