以前、蒙古タンメン中本に、中国人一家、4人くらいが、来店していまして、店の中がちょっと騒然としていました。

Previously, a Chinese family visitors came to the ramen shop "Mouko-tanmen Nakamoto", and the shop became a little turbulent.

基本的には、「オーダーが取れない」とか「注文なしでカウンターに座ろうとしていた(家族とラーメンをシャアしようとしていたと思う)」ようで、店員さんが困っていました。

Basically, there seemed to be "communication problem" and "getting a seat without order". A sales-clerk of the shop seemed to be at a loss.

もちろん、私も中国語は全くだめです。

Of course I cannot speak Chinese at all.

そこで、ダメもとで英語で話しかけてみたところ、中学生くらいの少年が答えてきました。

I thought that there was nothing to lose, I talked to them in English. So the boy who looked like a high student, answered.

以前、中国の子ども達の英語力というか・・・「英語を使うことに躊躇がないマインド」に感動した、という話を書きました(英語力は、日本の子どもたちにも十分あります)。

Before, I wrote about the high English proficiency of Chinese boys and girls, and this time I also impressed with "the mind that it does not have a hesitation to speak English". (Japanese children also have the proficiency, however, they don't notice that)

今回もそれを思い知りました

I realized it this time.

少年：「私たちは、辛くないラーメンが食べたいんです」

Boy:"We want to have the ramen which is hot"

江端：「・・・君達、事前調査がなっていないよ」

Ebata:"I am sorry but your preliminary survey is not enough"

次の彼らの課題は、日本のラーメンのバラエティ(多様性)を学習して貰うことだと思いました。

I think that their next target is to study the variety of Japanese ramens.
