今回は、社長さんのご厚意で、懇親会にもご招待頂き、ETG事務総長のマーティンさんと直接お話する機会も頂きました。

This time, in the kindness of Mr. president, to invite me to the convivial party, I had the opportunity to talk directly with Mr.Martin Rostan, an Executive Director of EtherCAT Technology Group.

社長さんは、大変、英語が流暢な方なので、私はニコニコして横に立ってお話を聞いていればよかったのですが、

Mr. president's English was very fluent, so what I did was just to hear their conversation with smiling.

EtherCATの連載の話題になり、「ご主人様とメイド」の話のところで、ちょっとマーティンさんが首をかしげたように見えました。

When the topic of my columns about the EtherCAT series was coming, Mr.Martin Rostan looked as puzzled with hearing the story of "Master and Maids".

私も、ここぞとばかりに、すかさず、完璧かつ必要十分な英語で、解説を申し上げました。

Immediately, I said a perfect, necessary and sufficient English comment to him.

「ぷりてぃがーるず いん な あきはばらエリア」

"Pretty girls in an Akihabara area"

と、申し上げたところ、

―― 深く頷いておられた

He seemed to have nodded deeply,

みたいですので、

メイドの内容と、私のことは覚えて頂けたんじゃないかなー、と期待しています。

So, I expected that he remembered both the maids and me.
