昨夜、何年かぶりに、誤動作でハードディスクを破壊してしまいました。

Last night, I destroyed my HDD by my mistake for the first time in years.

ラズパイのSDイメージを、ハードディスクに書き込むという、初歩も初歩の失敗で、落ち込んでいます。

I wrote a SD image of Raspberry PI to the HDD. It was an elementary mistake, and I let me down.

唯一、私個人用のハードディスクであったことが幸いでした。

The only consolation is that it was my private HDD.

ハードディスクの大容量化に伴い、バックアップが難しくなりました。

Backups of HDD are going to be difficult because of the enormous disk size.

大抵の場合、ハードディスクは、壊れる時には、全部が壊れます。

In many case, HDDs are crashed, all data become missing.

ですから、完全で安心なバックアップをする為には、全く同じ容量のハードディスクを購入して、定期的に退避しておくことです。

To make a safe and secure backup, I should buy two same capacity of HDD at the same time, and try the backup temporary.

それは、必然的に2倍のコストが発生することを意味します。

This means, twice costs are needed.

また、「大容量化」するということは、データが沢山入ることですので、データを定期的に整理する必要もなく、また、その格納期間も長くなります。

And, "mass storage" can store much data, so there is no need to regularly organize data, and the maintenance period will be long.

ですから、ハードディスクの中身を把握できないようになり、当然に管理もできず、カオス状態となってしまうことは、必然と言えます。

I think it is inevitable and imperative not to grasp the contents of the HDD, not to manage them and to become chaos states

ハードディスクの破壊は、ある種の「世界の終焉」と言えます。

Destruction of HDD is likely to "the end of the world".

しかし、同時に、過去の柵(しがらみ)を捨てた、「新世界の構築」への契機と言えなくもありません。

However at the same time, the destruction is a change to make a new world, breaking from the past.

これは、現権力を粉砕し、新権力の樹立を促すもの ―― 「革命 」と呼んでも過言はないと思います。

This is to crush the current power and encourage the establishment of new power --- it is "revolution", not an exaggeration.

ですから、私はここに、高らかに宣言したいと思います

So, I'd like to declare the following loudly,

―― 私は、ハードディスクを『破壊』したのではない

"I did not "destroy" the HDD"

―― 私は、ハードディスクを『革命』したのだ

"I've "revolutionized" the hard disk"

I will have to spend much time to restore this HDD for next long holiday in Japan.
