次女と実家に帰省しています。

I have returned my country house with my second daughter(SD).

先日、商店街を歩いていたところ、次女がある店に入っていきました。

As I was walking in the shopping street the other day, she entered a shop.

「かんざし屋」です。

It was "Kanzashi(hairpin)" shop.

次女は、あまり装飾品には興味がないようなのですが、「かんざし」は大好きなようです。

The second daughter seems to be not interested in decorative items much, but seems to love "Kanzashi".

店内に入って、私がびっくりしたことは、

What surprised me when I entered the store,

―― かんざしの先端が、鉄製の鋭利な形状になっていない

"The tip of Kanzashi" is not iron sharp"

ということだったのです。

直径7mmくらいの棒状の先端は、きれいな半球状の形状でした。

The rod-shaped tip with a diameter of about 7 mm had a beautiful hemispherical shape.

『これで、どうやって、人を殺傷できるんだ？』

"How can we kill people by this device?"

不思議に思った私は、次女とその件について話をしたのですが、どうにも話がかみあわないのです。

I wondered, and I talked about the matter with the second daughter, but we don't understand what we say.

江端：「あれでは、闇の中で悪人の首筋に刺し込んで、殺傷することができないじゃないか？」

Ebata: "In that shape, we can not kill a person who is bad guy with getting stabbed into the neck"

次女：「なんで、かんざしで、そんな物騒なことをしなければならないのか」

SD: "Why do we have to do such a noising with Kanzashi?"

江端：「かんざしって、装飾具の形状を装おった、凶器だろう？」

Ebata: "Kanzashi is a weapon that disguise as an accessory isn't it?"

次女：「かんざしには、髪を結う以外の目的はないよ」

SD:"There is no purpose other than tying hair"

次女に、かんざしに関する詳しい話を聞いて、私は驚きました。

I was surprised to hear a detailed story on Kanzashi from my second daughter.

江端：「パパの世代の男性の半分は、パパと同じように思っていると思う」

Ebata: "I think that half of the men of my generation think the same"

次女：「何で、そんな危険な思い込みができるんだ」

SD: "Why can you have such a dangerous belief?"

江端：「昔、『必殺仕事人』という、テレビ番組があってな・・・」

Ebata: "There used to be a" Hissatsushi worker ", a TV program ..."
