私は、著作を深夜に行うことが多いです。

When the work is a drawing, I will send it to my family by Mail and Line, however,

昨夜家族「全員」から

Last night, all of my family asked me,

―― 止めて欲しい

"to stop it"

と言われました。

理由をたずねたら、

I asked the reason to them, they said

『深夜、スマホの音で起こされるから』

"The sound of smart-phone wakes me"

と言われて、びっくりしています。

I was really surprised.

江端：「なんで、メールやLineの着信に、着信音を設定しているんだ？」

Ebata: Why do all of you set the ringing tone, at the incoming Mail and Line ?"

長女：「普通、そうするでしょう」

Senior Daughter(SD):"It is just common".

江端：「しねーよ。そもそも、パパ達が、電子メールを広めてきたのは、『受信者側の都合で返事ができる』というメリットがあると信じてきたからだぞ」

Ebata:"No way! we, IT engineers have believed that E-mail has a merit of "the recipient can reply at their own convenience", so we have been trying to spread it.

「不愉快なメールには返事しない」とか「面倒な仕事は、知らなかったことにしたい」とか、そういう用途に使いたい ―― という、邪な意思もあったのですが。

I also had a wicked intention, "I do not reply to unpleasant e-mails" or "I want to ignore troublesome work".

嫁さん：「仕事の連絡はLineでやっているから、呼出音はどうしても必要」

Wife: "We are doing work on the line, so the ringing sound is absolutely necessary"

次女：「着信音の設定は、常識」

Second daughter: "Ring tone setting is common sense"

と言われて、私は、しぶしぶ、家族宛ての、深夜のメールやLineを止めることに同意しました。

I reluctantly agreed to stop using Mail and Line to my family at midnight.

電子メールエージェント(電子メールを使ったM2M(IoTシステム))まで自作したことのある私としては、『電子メールの基本理念が踏み躙られるようで、挫くたる思いだ』 ―― と不満を言ったら、
