嫁さんの実家での移動を確保する為、空港でレンタカーを借りて移動手段としていました。

In order to keep the movement at my wife's parents house, I rented a car at the airport and used it as a means of transportation.

ところが、車を借りる度に、私の感性が、「スマートキー」というモノを拒絶することに、苦労させられました。

However, every time I borrowed a car, my sensitivity gave me a hard time refusing things called "smart keys".

「スマートキー」とは、自動車が、そのキーを所有する人間を「オーナー(所有者)」であると認めるものに対して、鍵の操作なく、全ての操作(開錠/閉錠/エンジンのスタート)を許すものです。

A "smart key" is a function that allows an automobile to recognize a person, who owns the key as an "owner". It enables the owner to allow anything (unlock / lock / engine Start) without the ordinal key's operation.

車の操作がとてもラクです。

The "smart key" gives us easy operations about cars.

しかし、この「スマートキー」を他人に奪われたら、自動車を奪われたも同然じゃないか ―― とも思ったのですが、それは、これまでの普通の鍵でも同じです。

Firstly I thought if I was robbed of this "smart key" by another person, it means "I was robbed of the car itself". however, I noticed that it was same even if I use the ordinal key.

よく考えれば、従来も、「鍵の所有者は、自動車の所有者(オーナー)である」と認定された上で、自動車の操作をしてきたのですから、別段、何も変っている訳ではありません。

When I think that carefully, nothing has changed anything else, because "the owner of the key is equal to the owner of the car," and we have manage the cars.

寧ろ、「スマートキー」は、普通の鍵と違って、簡単には複製が作れない分、盗難の心配が格段に少くなった、とも言えます。

Rather, unlike ordinary keys, a "smart key" can not be easily duplicated, so t fear of theft has drastically decreased.

どう考えても、「スマートキー」は、従来の鍵に比べて、基本的には圧勝しているのです。

Whatever I think, a "smart key" is basically winner more than the ordinal key.

しかし、この「違和感」だけは、どうしようもありません。

However, it cannot be helped about "uncomfortable feeling".

で、多分、パソコンやスマホやメールを使わない人にも、この「違和感」があるのだと思います。

So, perhaps, persons who does not use personal computer, smartphone or e-mail, I think that there is "uncomfortable feeling"

そして、従来のシステムを使用してきた人間ほど、その「違和感」は大きい ――

And, the elders who used the conventional system, feel "uncomfortable" on a large scale.

つまり、高齢者は、高齢であるから、という理由だけでなく、

In other words, elderly people are not only because they are elder,

従来のシステムを使い続けてきた時間が長いから、新しいシステムへの移行が難しい

but also it took a long time to use a conventional system. Therefore it is difficult to change to a new system

―― ということなのだろう、と思いました。

I thought that it would be that.

「スマートキー」ごときで狼狽(うろたえ)る人間(私)が、

A person (I) who feel uncomfortable with "smart key"

「メール」を使わない人間どうこう言う(批判する)ことは、

cannot criticize the persons who do not use "email".

『全くもって、おこがましい』

I also think "it is ridiculous".

と、この私でも思います。
