2018-06-23 『よろしかったでしょう』 [長年日記]

(昨日の続きです)

(Continuation from yesterday)

あの時代、「通信リンクが確立した(チャネルが確立して、電文を交換した)」という事実だけで、「コミュニケーションの(前向き)な意志」を確認したのです。

In that era, we could confirm "positive will" of communication just by that the communication link was established (channel established and telegram switched).

正しい文法、語順、前置詞、気の効いたフレーズ ―― そんなものは全て必要なく、「相互にリンクしよう」という意志そのものを、「コミュニケーション」と呼んでも構わなかったのです。

We didn't have to care of "correct grammar", "word order", "preposition", and "cool phrases". We could call an intention of "link to each other" as "communication".

-----

「了解」を「り」と略す ―― それで、「コミュニケーションの(前向き)な意志」が伝わるなら、結構。

"Ryoukai(accepted)" is abbreviated as "Ri" has no problem, even they can realize "communication (positive) will".

じゃんじゃん、言語を変化させて頂きたいです。

I would like them to change languages more and more.

-----

ただ、問題は「世代間ギャップ」ですね。

However, the problem is "intergenerational gap".

私が、この事実を知らずに「り」と送られたメッセージを見たら、誤送信だと思うだろうし、それが続けられたら、バカにされていると、腹を立てていたかもしれません。

If I watched a message sent as "Ri" without knowing the above fact, I thought that it was an erroneous transmission. In the worst case, I came to get angry with thinking "being stupid".

とは言え、「言葉の使い方」は常に変化するもので、そして、マジョリティを得た側が、常に勝利者です。

However, "how to use words" is always changing, and the side who gained the majority is always the winner.

そして、この件については、情報リテラシーの高い若者サイドが、必ず勝ちます。

And for this matter, young people with high IT literacy always win.

私たちシニアは、抵抗するだけ無駄です。

Our seniors should not have useless resistance.

だから、コンビニ、ファストフード、ファミレスの会計で、

So, in the account of convenience stores, fast food, and family restaurant, when we asked

『1000円からでよろしかったでしょうか?』

"WAS this 1000 yen good for you ?"

と聞かれたら、

we should say

『よろしかったでしょう』

"This 1000 yen WAS good for me"

と答えることが、ITリテラシーの敗者たる、私たちシニアの責務(or苦行)です。

is a correct response. This is our senior responsibility (or penance) becaue of a IT literacy loser.
