この話、以前もしましたが、

The government don't have to give Japanese makers poor money for studies of auto driving. It is absolutely very helpful to use the fund for compensation for victims.

のですが、そういう話は、一向に出てこないですね。

However I have not heard this story yet.

つまるところ、今回の話、

In short, this story will indicate that

『いつまでも、人間なんぞに運転させていることが悪い』

"It is bad to let people drive still

というところに話がオチが着きそうです。

will be a punchline.

人類は、ここ10万年ほど、日常生活で、1秒で1メートル(時速3.6km)くらいの移動速度しか経験がありません。

Human beings have only experienced moving speeds of about 1 meter per second (3.6 km / h) in daily life for the past 100,000 years.

数千年ほど前に、馬を利用して、秒速10mくらいを体験できるようになりましたが、それはほんの一部の人間(兵士とか)による、せいぜい1時間弱程度の移動です。

Thousands of years ago, it became possible to experience about 10m per second using horses, however, it is a little less than an hour of movement by only a few people (such as soldiers).

そもそも、マンション10階分の長さ(30m)を1秒で通過するような高速移動(時速120km)を、人間が制御する、ということ自体が、かなりの非常識なのです。

To begin with, it is quite insane that humans control high-speed movement (120 km / h) that passes through the 10th floor of an apartment (30 m) just in 1 second.

(ちなみに、自由落下(例 飛び降り自殺)したとしても、マンション10階からは2.47秒必要です)

(By the way, even if you fall freely (eg jumping suicide), it takes 2.47 seconds from the 10th floor of the apartment)

そのような高速制御を、ぶっつづけで何時間も続けるという、高速道路の運転は ―― そもそもが間違っているのです。

First of all, driving on such a highway, where such high-speed control continues for hours, is wrong.

ほとんどの人が、そういう非日常の中にいれば、「あおり運転」なんぞする"低能"が一定数発生することは、やむを得ないのかもしれません ―― が、

If most people are in such an extraordinary situation, it may be unavoidable that a certain number of "incompetent guy" occur, such as "tailgating", however,

だからといって、"低能"が"低能を発揮すること"を、私達が許す理由にはなりません。

There is no reason we allow "incompetent guy's performance" of the "incompetent guy".
