嫁さんが、結婚してからずっと使ってきたアイロンが動かなくなったとかで、この度、アイロン機器を一式を購入することになりました。

My wife asked me to buy a new iron because the old one, which had been used since our marriage didn't work. So we decided to buy a whole set at this time.

もちろん、私には異議はないのですが、普段私が使うものではないので、アイロンそのものには1mmも興味がありません。

Of course, I had no objection, however I am not interested in any iron because I don't use it as usual.

私は洗濯したものを、そのまま、洗濯竿に引っ掛けるだけ(伸ばすこともしない)です。

In my case, I wash clothes and hang them on a pole (not spreading them)

シワがでていたら、その部分を水につけて、そのまま着衣することで対応します。

If wrinkled, I dip the part into water, and wear it. It is easy.

これは学生の頃からの私のやりかたで ―― 例外はありまません。

This method has continued since my college days, and there has been no exception.

ですので、嫁さんは、私に、料理と掃除はやらせてくれても、洗濯だけは、絶対に私の手には渡してくれません。

So, my wife never allow me to do washing, even if she lets me cook and sweep.

However, in my family, I have to work as a consultant for home electric appliances.

基本的に、ITエンジニアは、検索エンジンンを使って「目的の情報に辿りつく速度」が、一般人とはケタ違いに速いです。

Basically, an IT engineer can reach the target information by using search engines, faster than others.

これは、ITエンジニアが、「そういう目的で作られているから」です。

This is because IT engineers have been produced for the purpose.

これらのITエンジニアの特性は、どこにあっても、「便利な機能」であることには違いありません。

I think that the functions of IT engineers must be useful for everyone.

「一家に一人、ITエンジニア」 ―― というのは、これから家庭を持とうと考えている人には、是非ご検討頂きたいです。

"There is an IT engineer in each family". I want an unmarried persons who wants to get married to think of it.

もっとも、エンジニアから見ると、「一方的に、フリーライド(ただ乗り)されている」とも言えます。

昨夜、嫁さんが、Amazonから届いたスチームアイロンに感動の声を上げて、その機能を私にプレゼンしている最中、私は、

with giving half-hearted replies, and gazing out the window.

I could not concentrate my wife's saying, because I could not find the flashing signal of LED light of a "Michibiki" GPS receiver I had installed in the garden.
